Common Mac Studio A3389 faults we repair
- No power
- Thunderbolt 5 port faults
- Fan noise and dust
- Data recovery
Every repair starts with a diagnosis, and we give you a fixed price before any work. If the fault is on the logic board, we repair it at component level instead of replacing the whole board.
Data recovery from the A3389
The Mac Studio A3389 keeps its storage on removable storage modules that are paired to the Mac they came from.
A module moved to another Mac will not unlock, so recovery means repairing the original Mac. We fix the fault, start the Mac, and copy your files. We will need your login password.
Upgrades
- Storage: not upgradeable in the usual way, because it is fixed to the board. Ask us whether a chip-level upgrade is possible.
- Memory: Built into the Apple silicon chip package, so it can't be upgraded.

Questions
Where do I find the model number?
The model number is printed on the underside of the Mac Studio, in small type around the edge of the base.
Can you get my files off a Mac Studio A3389 that will not turn on?
A module moved to another Mac will not unlock, so recovery means repairing the original Mac. We fix the fault, start the Mac, and copy your files. We will need your login password.
Is a Mac Studio A3389 worth repairing?
Yes. A Mac Studio A3389 is a recent Mac, and a component-level board repair costs far less than a new logic board or a new Mac.
Do you need my password?
Yes, for data recovery and for testing after a repair. The storage on this Mac is encrypted, and your login password is what unlocks it. You can enter it on the booking form; we keep it encrypted and delete it when the job is finished.
