Terms and conditions of liquid damage repairs 

When a computer has been affected by a liquid damage, the liquid goes through the keyboard before it reaches the logic board, the hard drive and the battery. When a machine isn't turning on after a liquid spillage, the first thing to do is to remove the logic board and carry out ultrasonic cleaning to remove residues and corrosion.

If a board has been left too long with corrosion, components on it are eaten away. This involves a complex investigation on the board to make sure the damages are identified and repaired. In many cases, we can repair the logic and getting it back to working order. Once this has been done, we can then test the keyboard, the hard drive and the battery that could have been damaged as well.

An average liquid damage repair on logic board can range from  £195 to £350 + vat. An accurate quote will be given when the computer is in our repair centre - depending on the specs, age and value of the computer. Additional charges may apply to cover the cost of other components on the laptop. In 95% of the cases, keyboards have to be replaced - prices range between £110 to £195 + vat depending on specs and models.

There are also cases where the liquid has penetrated the hard drive where the data is saved. In this instance, a physical or logical data recovery would be required to retrieve the data if important. Price range between £295 and £650 + vat.

Other miscellaneous parts may be required such as power supplies, connectors, audio jacks, memory or LCD screen cables.

Before we can confirm that the repair will be completely successful, we need to get the logic board to work. That's why customers have to agree on the intitial cost of repair for us to go ahead.
